The Wayne County Commissioners are making $2,408,849 in grant funding available to eligible businesses and nonprofit organizations to assist with expenses related to COVID-19.

Recipients will submit a report and copies of receipts or paid invoices by October 31, 2020 and a final report by January 8, 2021.
Eligible Businesses
The following types of businesses located in Wayne County, Pennsylvania are eligible:​

All tourism businesses (includes transportation, resorts, accommodations, food and beverage, entertainment, and travel agents)

All other businesses with fewer than 100 employees including sole proprietors without employees
-
Nonprofit organizations exempt under sections 501(c)(3) and 501 (c)(19) per federal guidelines
Businesses that have not received PPP, EIDL, PA Small Business Advantage Grant Program, Fire Company and EMS Grant Program, and Hazard Pay funds will be given priority.
Use of Funds
Funding can be used for loss of revenue or expenses incurred between March 1 and December 30, 2020 that are both necessary and related to COVID-19.
The following expenses are not eligible for this funding:

Expenses that have been or will be reimbursed under any other federal program

Damages covered by insurance

Workforce bonuses other than hazard pay or overtime

Severance pay

Legal settlements
How to Apply
The application process is now closed. Applications were accepted through August 21, 2020.​
Evaluation Process
All applications will be reviewed and scored by an independent third party with the assistance of representatives from WEDCO, the Chamber of the Northern Poconos, Downtown Hawley Partnership and Greater Honesdale Partnership and the Wayne County Board of Commissioners.

The third party will help identify other funding pools that applicants may be eligible for and direct those applicants to these funding streams. Applicants that apply for other funding streams and do not receive them will remain eligible to be reconsidered for Wayne County CARES Act Block Grant funding.

Decisions about funding will be made at a Board of Commissioners meeting on October 1, 2020.
